Ink pen and brush

I always liked etchings and engravings of the 19th century. The details presented on these works, the views of cities, buildings are just fascinating to me. In the early years, I tried to do the same on paper with an ink pen. Later I used ink brush, just like watercolour, to give more depth. What cannot be done with a pen can be done by brush, and the resulting effect looks very satisfying.

My passion for the old city of Izmir, my home town, urged me to draw more about Izmir. Most of these drawings are done by looking at old photos, as the city herself changed drastically since then.
